About the Hut

  • The hut has a 4-burner propane cooktop as well as an outdoor propane grill.

    We recommend planning meals to avoid generating messy/ smelly garbage and also to minimize food and packaging to pack out.

    Also provided:

    • Serve ware - plates, bowls, utensils

    • Cookware - Pots, pans, cooking oil, utensils

    • Knives, cutting boards

    • Can opener

    • Coffee pour over cups, pour over filters, mugs

    • Dish soap, wash bins, bleach, scrubber

    There is also a 3.5 cuft propane mini-refrigerator!

  • There is a wood stove for heating as well as two propane furnaces, one downstairs and one in the mudroom.

    Firewood, axes, matches and newspaper will be provided.

    Split firewood can be provided at an extra cost. Please inquire over email when booking.

  • Please be courteous of other guests visiting the hut in regards to noise, quiet hours, consumption of alcohol, and personal gear storage.

    • Quiet time is from 10:00P to 7:00A

    • No smoking of any kind in or on the premises

    • No pets - please leave your furry friends at home

    • Do not feed wildlife or leave trash/ food outside

    • No outdoor fires, no fireworks, no discharging of firearms

    • Pack it in, pack it out (garbage and trash)

    • Leave the hut how you found it! There is no cleaning service between guest stays.

  • The hut can sleep up to 12 people. Beds are on a first come, first serve basis and are not reserved.

    There are 4 twin beds in the loft, 2 sets of twin bunkbeds downstairs, and two futons on the main level. (There are two levels and a loft.)

    Bring your own sleeping bag.

    Basic pillows are provided however please bring your own pillowcase.

    Sheets and warm blankets can be provided at an extra cost. Please inquire over email when booking.

  • The hut has an indoor composting toilet and will provide toilet paper and hand sanitizer.

    The toilet is only for human waste and toilet paper. Please be prepared to pack out used feminine hygiene products and wipes of any kind.

  • It is your responsibility to pack out your trash. All garbage, including uneaten food and packaging, must go home with you. Extra trash bags will be provided at the hut.

  • The hut does not provide water. In the winter, melting snow for drinking water is common practice. Guests are responsible for filtering/ treating this water if they choose to do so.

    Big pots for melting snow on the stove are provided.

  • Please be prepared to have minimal cell phone service on the approach and at the hut.

    WiFi at the hut (used for monitoring the solar, weather conditions and the comings and goings at the hut) is password protected and not accessible for guest use. We do this because we want the hut to provide a space to connect with each other and the environment!

    Should you want to purchase access to WiFi for special circumstances, please inquire when booking. WiFi access may only be purchased in advance and not during your stay.
